Jane Girondo

St. Alphonsus School

A teacher since 1969, Mrs. Girondo has dedicated her life to education. For the past 21 years however, she has taught at St. Alphonsus School and has made a positive and lasting impact on countless students. Her deep commitment to learning is evidenced by her constant quest for knowledge. Always abreast of current educational trends, Mrs. Girondo diligently integrates technology in all curriculum areas. She was an avid supporter of and participant in IBM Reading Companion’s program where she mentored students in creating children’s books. This semester-long project integrated all steps of the writing process—from brainstorming to final execution—and included visits and workshops from IBM children’s authors. Mrs. Girondo is also an exemplary role model of the Catholic faith—as both a Eucharistic Minister and one who prepares young people for Confirmation.
