GRADUATE: Archbishop Ryan High School
Archbishop Ryan graduate Chris McKendry has been a journalist for ESPN since July 1996. Prior to joining the sports network powerhouse, she had been at WJLA-TV, an ABC affiliate in Washington, D.C.—where she was the market’s first female sports anchor. In June 1996, she received a regional Emmy in the Best Sports Segment Category for “NFL 101,” a program that illustrated how to watch football. A graduate of Drexel University with a Bachelors degree in Humanities and a three-year Dean’s list scholar, McKendry attended the school on a tennis scholarship. Though she now lives a few hours north of Philadelphia, McKendry will always remain a true Philly sports fan.
