In addition to Thanksgiving, Christmas, Martin Luther King, Jr., Day, and Memorial Day, which are designated on the calendar as official holidays, the secondary schools may designate one retreat day, 2 snow days, and one optional holiday. The Office of Catholic Education will designate two professional in-service days for teachers in the Secondary School System for the 2011-2012 school year.
